Add a PoE filter where the coax cable enters your home.MoCA security for cable Internet service comes from either of the following: If instead you have FiOS or some other form of fiber optic Internet service, you already have MoCA security so you don't need to read this section. Connecting the laptop directly to the gateway works fine.We recommend some form of MoCA security if you have cable Internet service, especially if you are located within 150 yards (137 meters) of another home with cable Internet service. TLDR: I have an Arris NVG468MQ gateway connecting to a Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter via coax that's connecting to a laptop via ethernet. I'm able to ping 8.8.8.8 as well as When I connect the same device directly to my gateway via an ethernet cable, no issues. Problem: No internet connectivity when trying to browse or use internet capable applications. Also, the coax lights on both devices are green and I see the device as connected in the modem's web UI. I purchased an the Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter that I have directly connected over coax to the Arris gateway. I tried searching, but wasn't able to find anything. I'm having some issues with device connectivity when connected through MoCa and networking is not my strong suit. I have an older house with coax and am looking to use MoCa to wire up some of my rooms. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
